DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
Robarts Library stack floors 9 to 13 house the main library’s collection of books and journals on parallel rows of double-sided metal cantilever shelving units. Though the shelving is extremely stable (when loaded properly) not all of it has been properly braced over the years to prevent lateral forces from further potential destabilization. In the summer of 2023, a competitive procurement was carried out to completely stabilize the shelving on the 11th floor. The Library is now conducting an RFP to complete the remaining four (4) floors: 9th Floor, 10th Floor, 12th Floor, and 13th Floor. The purpose of this RFP is to solicit vendor proposals for the supply and installation of overhead transverse bracing sufficient to stabilize those shelving ranges that currently have no bracing.

The procurement is anticipated to involve negotiation. An electronic auction is not anticipated.
