P56PA150569 - CAD/CAM Software for Multi-Axis Milling Machines INVITATION TO TENDER NO. P56PA

Currently the TTC Plant Maintenance Department is using built-in software in the CNC controller to provide machine readable code to the machine. This built-in software is extremely slow, outdated, and inefficient and has very few safety features. The newly purchased AWEA CNC Mill does not have a con-troller with built-in software to program the machine. “Conversational” (Built-in software) CNC controllers on milling machines are a thing of the past. CNC milling machines are now pro-grammed using CAD/CAM software installed on a personal computer. For example, programming that is completed on the ANILAM 6000 control for contoured parts can take up to a week. Using CAD/CAM software will reduce the required time to one day. Plant Maintenance will be receiving a new AWEA BM1800 vertical CNC milling machine with a Mitsubishi M80 control this month.
In light of the situation and upcoming hardware and software addition and upgrade, the Supplier will provide on-premises CAD/CAM software which will be able to create and read CAD files and produce machine readable G-Code using CAM for the existing and new machines require to operate.
This engagement will be for three (3) year period, with an option to extend one additional two (2) additional year term.
