The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley is mostly rural, lower tier Municipality, located within the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville. With a population of approximately 9800 residents, Elizabethtown-Kitley is a diverse Municipality with multiple buildup areas, including the Villages of Jasper, Toledo, Frankville, Addison, Greenbush, Spring Valley, Tincap and Lyn. In addition, we have one industrial/commercial park located within Spring Valley.
All together, we have 355 kilometres of roadway that the Municipal is currently responsible for. Of that, approximately 210 kilometres are gravel, 30 kilometres are low class bituminous (surface treated), and 115 kilometres are high class bituminous (asphalt). In addition to the Municipal roadways, there are a number of private roadways that are maintained by the residents that live along them.
The Municipality also has approximately 10 kilometres of sidewalk, 10 bridges and bridge sized culverts (> 3.0 metres), over 500 roadway culverts (< 3.0 metres), and over 800 regulatory, warning, and directional signs.
