General Contracting Services for Alterations to the Integrated Health, Wellness & Accessibility Centre, Kingston Campus
These two separate office areas are being renovated to expand the service delivery and integrate the Wellness/Accessibility Centre reception with the Health Clinic reception for efficiencies and student convenience.This project will have a very tight timeframe and it is understood this will be a challenge for Contractors and they may need to consider extended hours and costs to complete on time.  The intent is to renovate the space with minimal disruption of services and the College is looking to the successful contractor to assist with this challenge. Work is to take place as soon as possible upon award starting in November and is to be completed by January 9, 2023. A project schedule in Gantt Chart form or other similar format demonstrating that the specified dates can be met must be included with your submission to this RFT.
The renovation needs to start with the demolition, and the area of concentration first needs to be the Health Clinic side of the space as service needs to be provided as best as possible during this work. Therefore, the removal of the walls & ceiling at the waiting area needs to take place after 4:30 p.m. as does the removal of the wall between the reception areas. The space must be hoarded off with fire resistant poly tarp with a stud support to hold in place and keep the area off limits to students and staff. While the Wellness & Accessibility space will be vacated, the clinic needs to operate during the day. The installation of the new walls for the nurses’ office will also need to be carried out after hours. The hoarding needs to be sealed at all edges and a zippered entrance provided. The work in the Wellness & Accessibility space can take place at the same time or during the day. Please refer to Schedule 1A – Scope of Work to the Draft Agreement and Appendix – Drawings & Specifications SZA for further details.
