70-04/20 - NOI - Award Contract for Oracle Software Maintenance & Support

Notice is hereby given by the City of Burnaby of its intent to contract with Oracle Canada ULC for a 12 months period commencing 2020 June 02 to 2021 June 01 for the following services:

1) Oracle Database Software Update License and Support, total contract value of $82,870.49.52 including GST and PST; and

2) Oracle Identity Manager Software Update License and Support, total contract value of $94,801.73 including GST and PST.

The City of Burnaby did not call for competitive proposals for the following reasons:

· The vendor has specific knowledge and has demonstrated experience of the proprietary Oracle software;
· Manufacturer's warranty may be void if serviced by unapproved vendor;
· It is the City's opinion that there is currently no other vendor able to provide these services; and
· The impact of introducing a new software and support provider would affect cost as well as resources.


Companies wishing to object to this decision should EMAIL a letter of objection presenting specific reasons for their objection by 3:00 p.m., Pacific Time, May 14, 2020.

The required experience and resources, with proven ability to offer the same or better services in the same timeframe, are key criteria with regard to consideration of an objection.
