Description

The Perf-O Joist product is manufactured out of existing wood I-Joist from Boise Cascade.

Those I-Joist have been evaluated by the CCMC and the series AJS, 140, MS, 150 and MS 20 featuring a 2X3 flange (CCMC 12787-R) are therein, the raw material for making the Perf-O Joist.

Then, a CNC machine is used to precisely make nearly circular cut-outs in the web in a triangulated shape.

The work required by FPInnovations is aimed at assessing the structural and durability performances of the Perf-O Joist product.

Work related to the fire performance and other performance attributes are beyond the scope of this contract.

They key objective is to develop a CCMC TG for structural and durability qualification of the Perf-O Joist product from Hybrid Joist Inc. for use in Canada.
