Description

Notice is hereby given by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) of their intent to directly award a contract to the following supplier to provide an Enhanced Anti-Phishing and Education Solution.

Egress Software Technologies, Inc.
Level 7, Industrious, 22 Boston Wharf Road,
Boston, 02210, United States

Rationale:
Egress is presently the sole tool with the capability to:
• Educate users on an ongoing basis regarding any risks detected in an email via a “heat-based warning system”
• Educate users on an ongoing basis regarding any risks detected in an email via a summary page saying how much of a risk and why an email is a risk
• Perform contextual/linguistic analysis on emails received to detect threats

ICBC developed a proof of concept for the solution in the spring of 2024.

The contract is expected to run for two years, from October 11, 2024, to October 10, 2026.

The contract's value is estimated to be $340,000.00 CDN plus applicable taxes.

ICBC plans to issue a public procurement solicitation for the same or a similar tool in early 2026.
