Description

Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Itron Canada Inc. (the “Supplier”) for the following:

Advanced Metering Infrastructure – Water Meters

Background
The City’s ongoing Advanced Metering Infrastructure Upgrade Project (Water Meters) is underway and the number of endpoints currently available in City inventory is less than what is required to complete this Capital Project. An additional purchase of equipment is required to fully install all remaining endpoints within the city.

Scope
The scope includes but is not limited to:

Order for Capital Project – 1,800 units @ $200,000.00 CAD
Anticipated Ongoing Supply – $600,000.00 CAD until the end of initial contract term expiring on February 22, 2032.

Rationale for Contemplating a Direct Award
The City is contemplating a direct award with the Supplier for the following reasons:

Itron Canada Inc. is the manufacturer of the product therefore offers optimal pricing and quick turn-around time for delivery.

Contract Value:
The value of the contract is expected not to exceed $800,000.00 CAD
