Description

Notice of Intent to Award a Contract

Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Guardtech Security Corporation (the “Service Provider”) for the following:

Security Services

The contract will be for seven (7) months starting on January 1, 2024 and expiring on July 31, 2024.

Background

Guardtech Security Corporation was providing Security Services at various site locations throughout the City of Abbotsford. The contract expired on December 31, 2023.

Scope of Services

The scope of services includes but in not limited to:

Security Patrols;
Gate Access Management;
Security Alarm Call-Outs; and
Full Time Site Guarding

Rationale for Contemplating a Direct Award

The City is contemplating a direct award with the Service Provider for the following reasons:

Due to shortage in manpower (Operations) at City of Abbotsford.
To ensure continuity of service and avoid any business operational disruptions due to a transition or change of supplier while the City prepares solicitation document to issue to the market in 2024.

Contract Value:

The value of the contract is expected not to exceed $300,000.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.
