Description

Rotary-wing aircraft registered to private companies are required for temporary and or urgent activities on a day-to-day basis. The term “casual” means the aircraft will be hired as and if needed, with competitively established hourly rates, but with no guarantee of hours/days of work. The Department requires a helicopter vendor based in Canmore to deliver services to AWS in the area surrounding it.
Light or intermediate rotor-wing may be casually chartered for, but not limited to, the following operations:
• Emergency operations
• Flood
• Emergency spills or activities related to those operations
• Ice cover assessments on rivers
• Monitoring activities, all seasons, in mountains and/or plains, consisting of Snow Surveys, Meteorological Site Maintenance, Hydrometric Site Maintenance, Surface Water Quality sampling, and Groundwater Quality and Quantity.
