OVERVIEW - PROJECT SCOPE:
The City of Moncton wishes to engage the services of a professional, qualified and experienced Elevator Contractor to furnish all labour, materials, equipment, tools and incidentals required to upgrade and modernize the passenger elevator at the Moncton Coliseum Agrena, located at 377 Killam Drive, in Moncton, N.B., as outlined in Appendix A - Scope of Work and Project Requirements.
The City also requires the successful Bidder to assume responsibility for the maintenance of the Moncton Coliseum Agrena elevator for a one (1) year period, once work has commenced on site, as outlined in Appendix B - Elevator Maintenance Specifications and Requirements.
SCHEDULING A SITE MEETING:
PRE-BID SITE MEETINGS will be held WEDNESDAY, JULY 5, 2023 AT 2 P.M. - ATLANTIC TIME, at the MONCTON COLISEUM, located at 377 KILLAM DRIVE, MONCTON, N.B. (meet at the back of the Coliseum, Door #15) to review and discuss the scope of work. All interested parties are strongly encouraged to have a representative present at this meeting, as no subsequent meetings will be arranged.
APPROVAL OF EQUIVALENT / ALTERNATE PRODUCTS:
Bidders are advised that it is their responsibility to ensure, to their satisfaction, that all trades and suppliers are bidding in conformance with the Terms and Conditions, Specifications, and Drawings as described in the Tender documents.
The successful Contractor will be held to furnish, under his / her bid, all work as specified, except where drawings and / or specifications may be modified through written Addenda. The use of any product not listed by name in the specification MUST BE APPROVED PRIOR TO TENDER SUBMISSION by the procedures described herein.
All materials and articles of any kind necessary for this work are subject to the approval of the Engineer-Architect and the City of Moncton, and this judgment and decision shall be final. The submission of a bid shall be taken as evidence of the Bidder's compliance with these terms.
Where the Tender documents stipulate a particular product, written requests for approvals must be submitted no later than FRIDAY, JULY 7, 2023 @ 3:00 P.M. - ATLANTIC TIME, to allow sufficient time for consideration and response.
SUCH REQUESTS SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED BY COMPLETE DESCRIPTIVE AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION which demonstrates that the proposed equivalent product meets or exceeds the specified function of the product and related technical data, and shall be inclusive, but not limited to, such items such as: paint / coatings, metal, plastics, connectors, anchors, standards compliance, testing performance, drawings / plans, product function, quality and warranty of components, and general overall quality, warranty of
the product, etc. so that a proper evaluation can be made.
THE BIDDER'S PROPOSED PRODUCT MUST MEET OR EXCEED ALL OF THE SPECIFICATIONS ATTRIBUTED TO THE PRODUCT STIPULATED IN THE TENDER DOCUMENTS.
BID SECURITY:
A BID BOND, made payable to "The City of Moncton", in the amount of TEN PERCENT (10%) OF THE TOTAL TENDERED PRICE (TAXES INCLUDED), shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that a Contract will be entered if a bid is accepted.
