INVITATION TO BID
Sealed bids will be received by School District No. 46 (Sunshine Coast) for: ELPHINSTONE SECONDARY SCHOOL 2022 VENTILATION UPGRADE NO LATER THAN 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 (according to the clock on the computer in the Board Office reception area).
SCOPE OF WORK
.1 Provide new, complete, operational and tested mechanical systems for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and controls systems as described herein, indicated on the drawings and in conformance with applicable codes and standards.
.2 Provide all labour, materials, and products as specified as required to accomplish this work.
.3 The scope of HVAC work for this project generally includes:
.1 Phase 1:
.1 Classroom vertical unit ventilators (5)
.2 Interior ductwork
.3 Heating water piping and pipe insulation
.4 Direct digital controls
.5 Air and water systems balancing
.6 Verification of HVAC systems operation and controls
.2 Phase 2:
.1 Rooftop Packaged Heat Pumps (2) and ductwork
.2 Exterior ductwork and external insulation
.3 Direct digital controls
.4 Air systems balancing
.5 Verification of HVAC systems operation and controls
.4 Demolition and builder’s work includes the following:
.1 Phase 1:
.1 Removal of redundant piping from crawl spaces and ceilings
.2 Removal of rooftop exhaust fans and roofing of new insulated curb caps
.3 New wall openings for louvres
.4 Window replacement and infill for new louvres
.5 Millwork removal to suit new unit ventilators
.6 Painting of interior exposed ductwork
.7 Installation of new door grilles
.8 Removal and replacement of t-bar ceilings to accommodate mechanical work
.9 Other demolition, remediation, etc. as described in the Specification and on the Drawings.
.2 Phase 2:
.1 Removal of existing rooftop packaged heat pumps
.2 Structural reinforcement and roofing for new heat pumps
.3 Other demolition, remediation, etc. as described in the Specification and on the Drawings.
.5 Electrical work includes the following:
.1 Phase 1:
.1 Electrical power supply to mechanical equipment
.2 Removal and re-installation or replacement of miscellaneous electrical devices, as required to facilitate the project work
.2 Phase 2:
.1 Electrical power supply to mechanical equipment
.2 Removal and re-installation or replacement of miscellaneous electrical devices, as required to facilitate the project work
.6 Hazardous Materials Work to be performed by the Owner:
.1 The cost of hazardous materials work will be covered by the Owner.
.2 The successful Proponent will meet with the Owner and Consultant to identify areas where existing building surfaces will be disturbed.
.3 Based on such information the Owner will engage an independent Hazardous Materials Abatement Contractor to prepare openings, etc. in advance of the Contractor commencing work.
.4 Should the Contractor have concerns for an area of the building which has not been covered in the report, the contractor shall stop work immediately and notify the Owner and Consultant who will engage the Hazardous Materials Consultant to review.
.7 The mechanical contractor shall act as the Prime Contractor for this project, responsible for the coordination of all trades required to carry out the work as described herein.
