Description

The objective of this RFP is to select a Consultant to complete a replacement design for Walker’s Bridge on Salmon River Drive off Highway 107 in Westphal. Walker’s Bridge is a timber structure that carries Salmon River Drive (E-W) over Little Salmon River near Ross Road.

Walker’s Bridge is currently posted based on a level 3 inspection and evaluation of the timber structure completed in 2017. Based on the condition of the timber structure, HRM has elected to replace the bridge. Site investigations and conceptual designs were completed in 2019 which included a topographic survey, geotechnical investigation, hydrological study, and comparison of three bridge options.
