Description

The University of Alberta will soon be undertaking development of a Master Energy Plan for the North (main) Campus. This Master Energy Plan (MEP) will include an evaluation of energy supply, energy demand reduction, and carbon emissions reduction strategies over the next 20 years. The MEP will be performed by a qualified consultant reporting to the Utilities Department of the University’s Facilities & Operations Portfolio. This MEP process will include working with an Advisory Committee of stakeholders assembled by Utilities.

The purpose of this notice is to solicit Requests for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) from consultants who believe that they have the qualifications and experience to provide the professional engineering services required to develop the MEP. This RFEI is the first step in a multi-step selection process which will be led by the University.

STEP 1: Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) issued (open process)
STEP 2: Request for Statements of Qualification issued (open process)
STEP 3: Preselect 3 to 5 Qualified Consultants to Receive the Request for Proposals
STEP 4: Issue Request for Proposals (RFP) to Preselected Qualified Firms (restricted)
STEP 5: Proposal Evaluation, Selection, and Award (Step 5 may or may not include formal Interviews)

Firms with demonstrated experience in providing Engineering Consultation pertaining to a Master Energy Plan are invited to submit an expression of interest in accordance with the Instructions to Respondents. This invitation to submit an expression of interest is open to firms of sufficient substance and experience to provide services.

The University of Alberta reserves the right to proceed with all the phases indicated above or terminate the process at any time.
