The intent of this process is to identify and pre-qualify Architectural consultants who may wish to submit a detailed response to provide Design, Inspection and Contract Administration services.
It is MRU’s intent to determine the suitability of proponents on the basis of the information provided in their pre-qualification response, and to pre-qualify four (4) to six (6) firms based on fully meeting requirements.
The selection process for an Architectural consultant for this project consists of two phases.
First Phase:
The first phase involves submission by consultants seeking pre-qualification of general information pertaining to company profile, financial and historical information, ownership, project specific pre-qualification criteria, and financial and contract references. Based on the submissions received, a number of consultants deemed by Mount Royal, in its sole discretion, to be best suited to undertake this work will be identified.
Second Phase:
The second phase involves an evaluation process by Mount Royal’s Steering Committee in which a number of consultants will be selected and invited to submit detailed proposals for the required services.
It is Mount Royal’s intention to determine the suitability of an Architectural Consultant for pre-qualification on the basis of the information provided in their response to this “Request for Pre-Qualification”.
A consultant that has had considerable experience designing for the internal renovation to the old library and main street spaces of similar size and scope in a public occupied building will be considered for this project.
The consultant must have a proven ability to work effectively and efficiently in a post-secondary education institutional environment; and can demonstrate they have the resources and financial capabilities to undertake the required work may be considered. Architectural consultants must be able to work in a project team environment with representatives of Mount Royal.
It should be clearly understood by those firms intending to respond to this “Request for Pre-Qualification” that the process is solely and exclusively for the benefit and convenience of Mount Royal. Mount Royal reserves the right to reassess the criteria used for the pre-qualification process at the times and dates proposals are called.
In addition, Mount Royal, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to accept or reject any Architectural consultant as deemed to be in the best interests of Mount Royal.
This Request for Pre-Qualification must be completed in its entirety, and is required by Mount Royal in order to properly evaluate the consultant’s capacity, skill, reliability, knowledge and experience. Failure to provide any of the information herein requested may result in disqualification and any subsequent work resulting from this pre-qualification process.
