RFP-WGP21-04 - Request for Proposal for the Provision of A Climate Change Action Consultant

Proposals are invited from qualified consultants (hereafter referred to as ‘the consultant’) to help provide data and information to the Corporation of the Municipality of West Grey in the process of developing our climate change action plan (CCAP). The County of Grey recently completed a county-wide climate change action plan, which includes the community inventory. The Corporation of the Municipality of West Grey’s CCAP will need to incorporate appropriate components of the county plan, and must be focused on municipal corporate assets. The CCAP will also be based on the federation of Canadian municipalities (FCM) partners for climate protection (PCP) model. http://www.fcm.ca/home/programs/partners-for-climate-protection.htm

The municipality is requesting completion of this project by spring, 2022.

The successful consultant will work with the municipality, the municipality’s Climate Action Advisory Committee, public stakeholders, and community members to develop parts of an action plan that establishes a clear vision for the future, sets goals and objectives and establishes a clear plan for municipal action to mitigate climate change. This climate change action plan will identify a path forward for a ‘sustainable community’. The CCAP will ultimately be a result-oriented policy document that will identify various projects and further policy initiatives and actions that can be implemented to achieve climate change goals and overall GHG reductions.
