To provide all material, equipment, and labour to supply and install a vertical platform lift with transformed steps (VPLTS) which will meet the Province of Ontario codes and regulations. The contract will move through four (4) phases:
I. Introductory Meeting/Session: On-line meeting with the TSSA to explore project intent and basic review of equipment proposed.
II. Initial Shop Drawing Process: Upon award of the contract, this trade will proceed with full set of shop drawing for their proposed lift to meet the design intent from the consultant 99% design development documents as well as inserting proposed changes to your existing equipment to suit the Ontario and Canadian Codes and Regulations related to this equipment (Please review and incorporate into the design of your proposed equipment the appliable requirements from Canadian Standards Association (CSA) B44.1/ASME A17.5 Standard for Elevator and Escalator Electrical Equipment, C22.1 Canadian Electrical code, Part 1, Safety Standard for Electrical Installations and CSA B355:19 Platform lifts and stair lifts for barrier free design).
III. Regulatory Reviews and Certifications: Manage the regulatory certification process of the vertical platform lift with transformed steps through the Province of Ontario’s Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) and Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) offices.
Incorporate all requested modifications to the initial shop drawing submittals
Anticipate an initial review of the submittals by the consultants and regulatory Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), as well as a follow-up review after submittal are updated
After all reviews, update your submittal to suit. Given that this level of effort for this phase is unknown, we have identified a time allowance within this tender for attending on-line meetings, providing information and presentations, required additional engineering and shop drawing revisions for this process (See Item 3, below for further clarity)
IV. Manufacture and Installation: As noted, including but not limited to, manufacturing the vertical lift, shipping to Ottawa, Canada, installing, commissioning the equipment, making all final adjustments that may be required by the TSSA Inspector or other AHJ Inspectors. Finally, providing the required maintenance after turnover (See Items 13 and 14, below for maintenance requirements).
