Description

Detecting single photons is a core process in experimental quantum optics. Superconducting nanowire single photon detectors promise significantly higher detection efficiencies than silicon-based APDs. These new generation of detectors will allow us to acquire data faster enabling new discoveries, more precise experimental tests of quantum mechanics and novel quantum technologies.
