Description

The University of Waterloo is soliciting proposals from potential suppliers to provide emergency clean up, remediation and restoration services to the University of Waterloo’s properties including, but not limited to:

The South Campuses;
Colleges and Residences;
East and North Campuses;
David Johnston Technology Park and Research Centers;
Columbia Lake and its Residences;
University of Waterloo Place Residences; and
Additional campus locations in Cambridge, Kitchener and Stratford.

Conditions requiring remediation and restoration services may occur as a result of natural causes, environmental hazards, accidental occurrence or other casualties/emergencies. There is a strong possibility for numerous sites to be impacted simultaneously.

It is the University’s intent to create and contract with a roster of three (3) restoration service providers who are able to provide services at preferred rates for the various service categories further outlined in Section 6 of this RFP, as they occur throughout the five (5) year term of the Agreement.

Depending upon an individual project’s estimated value and to ensure timely response, capacity and capability to provide adequate service coverage, the University of Waterloo may select more than one service provider from the roster to quote on individual projects. This roster will be non-exclusive, and the University of Waterloo may, from time to time and at its own discretion, purchase services from service providers who are not on the roster.

The assigned service provider(s) will be responsible for any damage/repairs to property, including equipment and/or premises, caused inadvertently, or otherwise, during the provision of services and will, at the University of Waterloo’s discretion, repair, replace to original condition, reimburse the University of Waterloo for the costs of the damages or have the amount deducted from the amount due the contractor.

Objective of this RFP

The objective of this RFP is to select three (3) Successful Respondents that will:

act as the primary resources for emergency clean up, remediation and restoration needs across the University’s main and satellite campus locations;
provide the University of Waterloo with top priority in response to demands for services;
provide the University of Waterloo with excellent, timely customer and account management support;
support environmental and sustainability requirements;
offer preferred pricing; and
provide the required services through a roster system which will help reduce costs associated with repetitive selection processes.
