This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the University of Ottawa (the “University”) to prospective Proponents to submit Proposals for Unified Communications as a Service (“UCaaS”), as further described in Exhibit 1 of Appendix D - RFP Particulars (the “Deliverables”).
The University of Ottawa’s aging legacy telephony infrastructure does not meet current or future operational needs. Due to critical components such as end-of-support and prone to failure with extended outages, it cannot support the development and deployment of advanced functionality required as part of any modern Collaboration platform. Our students, faculty and business require more for the changing times. Students want to learn anytime, anywhere and anyplace. We are looking to implement a platform that will support that requirement for students and other stakeholders, provide faculties with upgraded tools to teach and collaborate in a seamless manner.
The University requires that responding Proponents propose a complete, end-to-end solution including design, planning, system architecture, installation, network analysis, training, and post-installation support for this project. The proposed Solution must include audio and video conferencing, instant messaging, call recording, configuration of Microsoft Teams, call centre functionality, and collaboration tools, in addition to essential telephony features and also means all of the requirements and deliverables set out in this RFP, including but not limited to goods, products, services, integration, configuration, implementation, installation (excluding physical installation of hardware on campus), transition in and demobilization (the “Solution”).
The purpose of this RFP is to solicit Proposals for the most appropriate UCaaS system from a qualified Proponent, including implementation services. The University prefers to purchase an existing system that is commercially available without major customizations and proven to operate effectively over time. The Proponent must provide a cloud-based solution (SaaS or IaaS).
