Description

The University of Ottawa is seeking bids from General contractors to modernize two elevators in Montpetit Hall on the downtown Campus. Work of this Contract comprises the modernization of the P1 and P2 elevators complete with all electrical upgrades, a new mechanical cooling system located in the 5th floor machine room at Montpetit Hall as well as well as new walkway from the elevator room to the roof access as per contract documents. Asbestos abatement as described in the attached project specific Designated Substances Report. The work is to begin on May 1, 2021 and be completed by October 27, 2021 with work to be done on one elevator at a time.
A mandatory bidder's briefing is scheduled via Microsoft Teams for Friday October 16, 2020 at
9:00 a.m. There is a meeting invitation embedded in the Request for Tender document on page 7. The Conference ID is 972 200 144# and the meeting is mandatory for General Contractors. General Contractors may invite subcontractors as they wish. Any General Contractor or subcontractor who wishes to tour the job site may do so on Thursday October 22 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00, but must pre-register at prs-proc@uottawa.ca. Groups will be kept to a maximum of 10 in order to comply with the Ottawa Public Health guidelines.
Bids are due via email to prs-proc@uottawa.ca before 3:00:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 4, 2020. Bids will only be accepted from General Contractors and the lowest compliant bidder will be required to sign a CCDC 2 Stipulated Sum contract.
