Description

Background Project Information and General Scope of Services

Following the designated substance report (DST) conducted at the University of Ottawa’s campus to determine the presence of building material containing designated substances and other hazardous materials, as defined under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, the purpose of this project is to keep a current written record of a complete annual material condition reassessment.

Project is to remove/repair or encapsulate poor condition material to protect building occupants from designated substances exposure and maintain compliance with provincial legislation. Keeping a current record of all asbestos containing materials (ACM) present in the workplace and conduct annual DSR update and reassessment of material condition.

The University requires the following:

A reassessment of the building: visual inspection, risk assessment (condition of all known asbestos containing material and potential for disturbance of the asbestos containing materials)
Preparation of 13 individual scope of works, identified in reassessments
Conduct abatement/repair/encapsulation and refinishing. Quality control oversight for each individual locations and established scope (present bidders briefing, validate change orders and invoices, perform inspections, validate/certify abatement)
Deliver letter of completion, then update DSR and consolidating with past 1.5 years’ worth of work (sampling, abatement, etc,)

RFP Objectives
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is an invitation by the University for Proponents to submit Proposal for the provision of consultant services to reassess buildings and abate poor condition materials as per applicable legislation.
