DESCRIPTION:
This Request for Quotation (“RFQ”) is an invitation to interested vendors (“Respondents”) to submit Quotes (“Responses”) to OCAD University (“OCAD U”) for the provision of a ten(10) -year Irrefutable Right of Use (IRU) for dark fibre connecting 130 Queen’s Quay East, Toronto, Ontario to 78 Queen’s Park, Toronto Ontario (the “Project”). The successful Respondent will be awarded a Purchase Order or Contract.
OCAD University’s Campus for the Connected World (CCW) location on Toronto’s Waterfront has received support through the Government of Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund. Fundamental to the CCW project is connectivity to high-speed research, education and innovation networks. The Irrefutable Right of Use (IRU) will provide connectivity through dark fibre to the GTAnet, ORION and CANARIE high-speed research and education networks, as well as connectivity to the OCAD U data centre located at 100 McCaul Street where services and systems will be hosted that are essential for CCW operations. As a GTAnet member, OCAD U will connect its main campus at 100 McCaul Street through existing GTAnet and University of Toronto owned dark fibre to 78 Queen’s Park (Bora Laskin Law library), Basement Room 120. The successful proponent for this RFQ will be able to provide dark fibre connecting from the Queen’s Park location to OCAD U’s Waterfront location.

NEGOTIATION: At the end of the evaluation process, OCAD University may identify one or more suppliers with whom it wishes to enter negotiations, by written notification.
