McMaster University plans to purchase a MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (MRI) SYSTEM from Bruker Ltd. and is notifying its intent by way of an Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN).

Overview of the Product
Dr. Sheila Singh holds a Tier I Canada Research Chair in Human Cancer Stem Cell
Biology and her lab has spent the last ten years investigating how brain tumour initiating cells give rise to cancer in children. Key to this research are sophisticated mouse models of cancer that her lab has developed. The MRI SYSTEM is crucial for her research program since mice with tumours can be imaged in it similarly to how human cancer patients are imaged. This will allow Dr. Singh’s group to non-invasively track tumour growth in the mice and the response to treatment.
