This Request for Information (“RFI”) is issued by McMaster University (“the University”) for the purposes of gathering information about the marketplace in order to assist in the determination of future purchasing options or requirements.
Data Governance at McMaster supports the University’s mission by enhancing the quality, value, security, and understanding of institutional data and data-related assets to support evidenced-based decision making and the University’s overall objectives.
Data Governance applies to all data and data-related assets held in administrative systems in all areas of the University that create, collect, modify or report on University data. This includes structured, semi-structured and unstructured data but excludes data collected thoroughly scholarly or research activities.
Administrative data related to research grants and publications generated are considered in scope for Data Governance. However, research data collected and created through research or scholarly activities are out of scope and are generally covered by best practices in Research Data Management (RDM).
