The intent of this RFP is to select one Proponent for the Provision of supply, delivery and installation of an Inverted Microscope for Fluorescence, Brightfield, Darkfield and Confocal Imaging with a large field-of-view (FOV) to the University in accordance with the terms and conditions of this RFP. This Imaging System will be used in Carleton’s Neuroscience department to take high-resolution, serial scans of whole brain tissue to obtain in three-dimensions and automatically capture confocal images of subcellular brain structures in vitro. The inverted microscopy systems should have the capacity to acquire weak fluorescence signals over the FOV without optical distortion, with rapid image acquisition capacity to allow direct examination of cellular structures, nucleic acids, and proteins in brain tissue. The system must have the capacity to integrate automatically with a confocal imaging system for subcellular analysis. The software platform to automate the serial scanning and confocal imaging solution must remain customizable for each experimental variant of individual users. The system should balance high performance while maximizing productivity and versatility.
