The Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board wishes to provide notice of the current tendering for St. Joseph-Scollard Hall – Heating Plant & BMS Control Upgrade.
The scope of work is generally as follows. This description is a summary and not exhaustive; refer to the contract documents for all required work:
Heating Plant Upgrade
Remove existing heating plant complete with all piping, valves, headers, chimney breeching, expansion tanks, drainage piping, pumps and other accessories, disconnect from existing DDC control system.
- Construct new hot water heating plant including new piping, condensing boilers, headers, primary and secondary pumping stations, new breeching, chimney/venting system, new gas line distribution, piping insulation and jackets, concrete slabs.
BMS Control Upgrades
- Upgrade entire building HVAC control infrastructure.
- Upgrade existing HVAC BMS control to accommodate new points. Upgrade and modify graphics package to accommodate all alterations and HVAC equipment sequence of operation. Upgrade existing mixing valves and valves/dampers actuators to the new system, provide all new sensors as shown on control diagrams. Reinsulate piping as required.
- Upgrade pneumatic control on existing A/H units. Reconnect all existing motors/starters (fans, pumps) to the new controller completed with all new wiring. Provide new temperature sensors and wiring. All pneumatic space wall thermostat shall be replaced with new electronic type complete with all wiring to control valves, VAV, by-pass and fan powered boxes, actuators, new heating fin radiation control valves.
- Replace existing control valves in fin radiations with new product complete with matching DDC temperature stat, control wiring of existing heating elements (fin radiation).
- Replace all isolation shut-off valves at heating elements - supply and return piping with new ball valves (fin radiation).

General Contractors and Mechanical subcontractors may obtain Bid Documents electronically in .PDF format by submitting an e-mail request addressed to pcl@piotrowskiconsultants.ca E-mail shall include all Contractor contact information and indicate ‘St. Joseph-Scollard Hall – Heating Plant & BMS Control Upgrade – Request for Tender Documents’ in the subject line.

An on-site non-mandatory Bidder’s Briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1st, 2022 at 3:30 p.m.

To be considered, offers must be submitted on official tender forms and will be received by the Owner, Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board, 1000 High Street, North Bay, Ontario, P1B 6S6, attention: Mr. Dan Russo, Sr. Manager of Plant Services and Health and Safety, prior to the closing date and time as per the requirements of the Bid Documents.
Submissions received after the closing deadline will not be accepted. Fax or e-mail submissions will not be accepted. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all submissions, and/or cancel or withdraw this request for any reason without liability for any costs or damages incurred by respondents including without limitation, any expenses incurred in the preparation of the submission.
