The Nanaimo Airport Commission (NAC) is looking to engage a qualified consultancy firm with extensive experience in airport planning, design, operations, safety, Canadian aviation laws and regulations and an in‐depth understanding of the airport regulatory environment, local socio‐economic conditions and the aviation standards that are required to protect the long‐term operational and financial viability of an airport.

The successful firm will be required to conduct a comprehensive technical audit and assessment of current YCD aviation systems and obstacle limitation surfaces. As well, the successful firm will conduct a thorough review and analysis of the easements, agreement etc. in place to determine the level of flight path protection that presently exists, to identify the areas of greatest risk, and to propose potential solutions to further protect the flight path and the long term viability of the Airport.
