Request for Prequalification (RFPQ) to establish a Source List for structured cabling services
The Museum is seeking Bids from potential firms who have technical experience in providing horizontal, vertical and multi-site structured cabling services in Gatineau, Québec and Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This is a one-step two-envelope submission process (Technical and Price) to select the three (3) lowest compliant Bidders who may then be invited to to be included on a Source List (SL) for eventual work required either at the Canadian Museum of History (CMH) building, located at 100 Laurier, Gatineau, Quebec, or the Canadian War Museum (CWM) located at 1, Vimy Place, Ottawa, Ontario.
The three (3) selected Contractors will be required to deliver the Services described in the procurement documents including, but not limited to, the following type of projects:
- Design, implementation, troubleshooting and testing of Category 6, Enhanced Category 5, Category 5, Category 3 structured cabling systems
- Design, implementation, troubleshooting and testing of Optical Fibre structured cabling systems;
- Design and implementation of conduit and cable tray pathways;
- Design and implementation of IT racks and cabinets
- TIA/EIA & IEEE compliance verification;
- RCDD infrastructure design and certification or equivalent;
- Fibre termination, RMS and fusion splicing:
- Terminate/splice existing multimode fibre SC 50 micro meters (CWM)
- Terminate/splice existing multimode fibre ST 62.5 micro meters (CMH)
- Terminate/splice existing single mode 50 micro meters (CMH)
To be considered, Bids must be received before the Closing Date and Time noted in the MERX ad through the MERX Electronic Bid Submission System. Refer to the Instructions to Bidders for all associated details.
Information provided by the Bidders will be evaluated using the established criteria in the RFPQ. The criteria relate to previous achievements and experience, as well as technical and managerial expertise.
The Security Requirements for this project are identified in the RFPQ documents.
The SL will be to provide services on an “as and when required” basis for a period of two (2) years from the date of establishment.
If mutually agreeable between the Contractor(s) and the Museum, this SL may be extended for up to three (3) additional one-year periods with the same terms and conditions.

Firms that consider themselves qualified to provide these services are invited to submit their Bids on the forms that are available through MERX or as directed in the procurement documents.
The Museum retains the right to negotiate with the Bidders on any aspect of the procurement.
Bids may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
