Description

MPAC would like to engage one or more service providers to support the execution and ongoing management of MPAC’s investment strategy. The overall investment portfolio is comprised of two separate investment accounts:

Segregated Investments — approximately $45M (used to finance MPAC’s employee future benefit liability), and
General Investments — approximately $30M (used to finance limited-time expenditures and other smoothing activities).

While the Investment Accounts are to be reported on and managed separately, it is expected that the Investment Manager will have the capability to manage all mandates within an asset class or across the asset classes encompassing the total portfolio. One or more managers may potentially be hired for each asset class. Alternatively, one manager may be hired to manage multiple asset classes.

MPAC’s intent is to engage the awarded Respondent(s) for the 2018 year commencing May 1, 2018 and for a minimum of a five year term.

Applicable insurance will be requested from the awarded Respondent(s) upon conclusion of the RFP process.

MPAC’s RFP-0002-2018 is subject to Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement.
