The Work shall consist in all that is required for grounds maintenance at various Winnipeg and surrounding locations consisting of but not limited to, the following ITEMS:
ITEM 1: Winnipeg East
ITEM 2: Winnipeg North
ITEM 3: Winnipeg South
The Work includes (non-exhaustive) the following:
1.1 Spring Cleanup
(a) Pick up and remove all waste materials.
(b) Remove all dead vegetation, leaves and grass from grassed areas, parking areas and roadways.
(c) Remove residual winter stones, rock, newspapers, sand, mud and gravel.
(d) Power sweep all paved driveways, approaches, parking areas and all sidewalks.
(e) Power rake all lawns.
(f) Aerate the grassed areas.
(g) Clean flower beds of all debris.
(h) Roto-till all flower and shrub beds.
1.2 Lawn and Grassed Areas
(a) Cut grass weekly no shorter than 2.5 inches, including the boulevard for any sites fronted by a boulevard and/or bordered by a boulevard that are not identified as a "Regional" street by the City Of Winnipeg. Bag and remove completely from the sites.
(b) Weed control and fertilize the lawn and grassed areas in the Spring, Summer and Fall to ensure and retain a healthy and vibrant lawn.
(c) Trim or whip-snip the grass around all walkways, driveways, buildings, trees, shrubs, curbs, fences, flower and shrub beds and all other obstacles each time it is cut.
(d) Edge the grass along walkways and driveways.
1.3 Trees and Shrubs
(a) Remove all dead vegetation and garbage from treed areas.
(b) Trim shrubs and hedges as necessary to maintain a groomed appearance. Shrubs and hedges should not be left to grow higher than 6 feet.
1.4 Miscellaneous Requirements
(a) Patrol the grounds weekly and remove and haul off the sites all litter, garbage and debris.
(b) Keep the parking lot free of weeds and debris.
1.5 Garbage Removal
Promptly remove and dispose of all garbage generated by the Contractor’s work force.
1.6 Fertilizer and Weed Control
Supply and apply fertilizer and weed control in the Spring, Summer, and again in the Fall, at the rate recommended by the fertilizer manufacturer.
1.7 Fall Cleanup
(a) Roto-till shrub beds as necessary.
(b) Cut the lower branches of trees to maintain a groomed and neat appearance.
(c) Remove leaves, dead branches and other debris from trees and shrubs.
1.8 Insecticides
Inform the Purchaser when insecticides are needed.
1.9 Licences
Possess current licences as required for spraying.
2 WORK SCHEDULE AND/OR CONTRACT DURATION
The Purchaser expects the work to commence on or about May 15, 2017 to October 31, 2017.
