The initial term for this service contract is one (1) year effective the date of award. If mutually agreeable between the Contractor and DCC, the contract may be extended for two (2) additional one (1) year periods with the same Terms and Conditions and applicable cost escalation. The Contractor will be advised within thirty (30) calendar days of expiry of the contract if the option to extend will be executed.
It is understood that if the option to renew this contract for the optional periods are exercised by Defence Construction Canada (DCC), the amount quoted in the Electronic Bidding System (Item 1 Yearly Maintenance Work) will be adjusted at each one-year anniversary of the award by calculating the percentage change in the Bank of Canada’s Consumer Price Index, all-items excluding eight of the most volatile components as defined by the Bank of Canada and excluding the effect of changes in indirect taxes (CPI). The adjustment would be in effect starting the month after the one-year anniversary. There will be no retroactive rate adjustments. The CPI used for calculation will not be seasonally adjusted.
As per Acknowledgement Document, Item 7 – Bidders are advised that it is understood and agreed that in the event of their Tender being accepted within 30 (thirty) calendar days of the date and time stated for closing of tenders and their failing or refusing to carry out the contract in accordance with the terms of their Tender, their bid security, if required by the tender, (i) if in the form of a wire transfer, shall be forfeited to His Majesty the King in Right of Canada, or (ii) if in the form of a Bid Bond, the Bonding Company shall be liable in accordance with the Bond.
