1.2.2 Design Objectives:
This RFP is to procure the services of Mechanical Engineer as Prime Consultant to lead the
project along with other respective disciplines to successfully implement the project, which
comprises installation of a Fuel Cell Unit along with all associated electrical, mechanical piping,
heat exchangers, switch gear and all necessary components to integrate the unit.
The Prime Consultant shall work closely with the project stakeholders and the Independent
Commissioning Agent (CxA), Independent Cost Consultant, IO energy and operations, CBRE
energy and operations, Brampton Utilities (Alectra), National Research Council, IESO, Ministry of
Attorney General – FMB on site maintenance staff and as determined by the Project Manager.
An independent Commissioning Agent (CxA) shall be procured via separate contract for the
project by the owner. The independent CxA will prepare the owner project requirement (OPR) in
liaison with the client and the prime consultant, which will then form the basis of design for the
prime consultant to follow and progress their design objectives.
