CBC/Radio-Canada is looking for a supplier to set up, manage and operate food services at its new Montreal broadcast centre, slated to open in 2020.
Whether a chef, caterer, restaurateur or food specialist, the supplier must provide the public broadcaster’s employees, production teams and visitors with a bold, authentic and out-of-the-ordinary eating experience that matches the spirit of Montreal and CBC/Radio-Canada.
Details and specifics about the desired format
The supplier shall offer various types of restaurant services in a 2,700-sq.-ft. “Café Bistro”-style space that includes the following:
- A snack bar attached to an approximately 200-seat dining area
- A café space adjacent to the snack bar
- An in-house catering service
And to meet the needs of employees working irregular schedules:
- Some self-service option (offering a varied menu and beverages)
The Café Bistro space will have limited on-site cooking facilities (there’s no exhaust hood!). The supplier will have to find imaginative ways to:
- cook meals (wholly or partially) outside Maison de Radio-Canada and then refrigerate and/or reheat them on-site;
- diversify its procurement sources to include local and specialized companies that reflect Montreal’s cultural diversity;
- offer customers quality products at a reasonable price.
It’s a tall order, but also a unique opportunity to create an innovative, one-of-a-kind culinary experience delivered in a lively, modern and engaging environment.
