Description

Beginning in 2015, the Council launched a significant strategic repositioning in order to scale up its impact for the arts and for Canadians, that began with a shift to an outcome-based approach and the design of a new funding model. In 2016, the Council received an historic investment from the Federal government that will double its budget over the course of the 2016-2021 period. The new funds are being invested according to the Council's 2016-2021 strategic plan, Shaping a New Future. The main tool for delivering on the commitments in the strategic plan is the Council's new funding model, launched in April 2017, which requires the Council to develop new technological tools and expand its workforce.

Many of the Council's human resources policies are out of date or no longer align to this new context. As a result, one of the priorities of the Human Resources and Organizational Development section for 2018-19 is to “Review and streamline HR policies, procedures and operating model.” This work is being done in advance of the anticipated acquisition of a new integrated system for HR and finance.
