 Creation and Operation of Affordable Rental Housing – City of Kamloops
 
This Request for Proposals (RFP) is an invitation by BC Housing Management Commission (BC Housing) for prospective non-profit organizations to submit their proposals for the creation and operation of an affordable rental housing project within the City of Kamloops, BC. BC Housing will provide capital funding in exchange for equity ownership for projects that would qualify under this program.
 
Description:
 The purpose of this RFP is to facilitate the creation of affordable rental housing.
 
Project funding will provided by BC Housing in exchange for equity ownership in the project. BC Housing will take ownership of a portion of the projects’ created housing units. Proponents will be required to enter into a land lease agreement with the City of Kamloops.
 
Projects must be self-sustaining affordable housing developments, funded through tenant revenues and/or operating dollars secured from other funding partners. This initiative is not intended to provide ongoing housing subsidies. Where projects involve supports or services to tenants, these projects will require additional funding from other programs and/or commitments from other funders in order to be viable.
 
Proposals contingent upon other sources of funding must demonstrate a commitment of the funding prior to evaluation of the proponent’s submission.
 
This program does not include residential care projects.

Information Meeting
 
An information meeting will occur on 08 February 2017 at 1:30 p.m. PT.
It is highly recommended that all proponents wishing to submit a proposal should participate in this meeting. The meeting will include a formal question-and-answer period.
