YHC RFP 2020-03 - Meditech Expanse Downtime System

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to select one (1) preferred proponent to enter into an Agreement for the provision of a MEDITECH Expanse downtime system.

Yukon Hospital Corporation “YHC” and the Yukon Government’s Department of Health and Social Services “HSS” are working together to improve patient safety, quality of care, and outcomes by implementing an updated Hospital Information System “HIS” across the Yukon health care system.  The HIS system is a commercial application by Medical Information Technology Inc. (MEDITECH) and the product is Expanse.

As part of our current project to upgrade / migrate the Owner’s current MEDITECH Magic and Client Server applications to the newest MEDITECH Expanse platform using Meditech “READY” implementation methodology, there is a requirement to have a down time system and process should the MEDITECH Expanse system be unavailable to our clinical teams.

The MEDITECH Expanse downtime system should integrate directly with MEDITECH Expanse and provide key patient information in the event of both a MEDITECH Expanse downtime and a complete downtime of the Owners network infrastructure. During these two downtime scenarios clinical staff should have access to patient information and the information should be organized and presented in a such a way that a non-technical user can easily find the information they need to provide patient care.
