Description

In the overall conservation project of Union Station in Toronto, the methods of modern ticketing and passenger servicing have evolved and now require significantly reduced space even with the great increase in passenger travel.
The object of the proposed project is to refit the 7 existing Via Rail ticket counter spaces in the Ticket Booth enclosure that are South West of the Great Hall comprising approximately 50 square meters of space the facing elements are existing heritage fabric.
This preservation and respectful reuse/transformation of existing outdated facilities with new services is a conservation strategy employed so these ticket booths may continue to be maintained remain useful, beautiful and convey the grandness of the past era.
The cabinetmaker shall work under a general contractor which will be designated by VIA following another call for tender

Mandatory requirements

1. Insurance
Tenderer has the following minimal insurance coverage:

Commercial General Liability Insurance of [$5,000,000]
Standard Owners Form Automobile Liability Insurance of [$2,000,000]
All Risks insurance policy

Tenderer to provide proof of insurance or a letter issued in favour of VIA dated and signed by an authorized representative of its insurance company stating that if the Tender is successful, insurance policies in accordance with the contract will be issued following contract award

2. Site Visit
The tender must attend the site visit and sign the site visit register

3. Commitment to respect all requirements and specifications
The offer’s Tenderer is complying with VIA requirements published and the Tenderer commits to respect them during the entire project.

4. Experiences
Cabinetmaker must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar projects.
The Tenderer must fulfill at least three similar projects in the ITT, part C, document #4

5. Date of completion of work
The work must be substancially completed within 18 weeks upon the contract award date
