REQUEST FOR SUPPLIER QUALIFICATIONS (RFSQ)

Professional Services for a New Arts Culture and Technology Building for the University of Toronto Mississauga

The University of Toronto requires a new facility located on the Mississauga campus to fulfill the academic investments moving forward at UTM, as well as support the role of digital technologies as highlighted in the University of Toronto Strategic Research Plan 2018-2023, to address issues of local, national, and global importance. Synergies between the academic investments in art, culture and technology create an opportunity to build space that will support an academic direction that is unique at the University of Toronto, bridging the Arts and Sciences across a broad range of departments and disciplines.

In issuing this RFSQ document, the University is seeking to shortlist up to 6 architectural practices that can act as either the sole provider of full professional architectural services or the lead design architectural practice that, if successful, would enter into a joint-venture or association with an architect-of-record practice. This RFSQ represents the first part of a two-stage process. Shortlisted Respondents will be invited to submit a response to a subsequent RFP document.

At this point, the University is not expecting profiles of joint-venture architects for those firms requiring a local partner or sub-consultants.

Proposals shall be delivered to the address noted below before 1:00:00pm on December 3, 2019 (the “Submission Deadline”).

The term “local time” shall mean the time as measured by the time clock maintained by the University at the reception desk of the location set out above.

Submissions received after the Submission Deadline will not be considered and will be returned to the Respondent unopened.

Each Respondent is responsible for the actual delivery of its RFSQ response document to the address listed above, regardless of whether the RFSQ response document has been given to couriers, delivery services, or Canada Post for delivery. RFSQ response documents transmitted by facsimile or sent by any other electronic means shall not be considered.
