The Office of the Vice-Provost, Strategic Enrolment Management (VPSEM) champions a student-centric approach to enrolment activities, engaging divisional leaders and implementing transformations that support institutional and divisional goals.
This project proposes to study the feasibility of relocating staff and student functions located at 172 St. George Street and the Nona Macdonald Visitors Centre to centrally located spaces contained within the Gerstein Science Information Centre – specifically the Journal Stacks and the large reading rooms (1100 and 1110) located adjacent to King’s College Circle. A move such as this will bring these critical functions to the heart of the campus and truly enhance the student experience. This project aims to form a long-term plan for these services through cost effective renovations.
The University of Toronto is seeking proposals from qualified Architects to undertake a comprehensive feasibility study to determine the viability of this renovation project, to provide insight and certainty to pursue renovating the select spaces for the purposes of relocating select VPSEM groups and mitigate unforeseeable risks. Once complete, this feasibility study will inform the Project Planning Report (PPR) and allow the project to proceed.
The Feasibility Study will determine the cost of renovation and feasibility of the design. This feasibility study is Part 1 in a potential two-part process, where, if the project is deemed to be feasible at the conclusion of Part 1 by the The Office of the Vice-Provost, Strategic Enrolment Management (VPSEM), the consultant team may be invited to implement these improvements in full or in part (Part 2).
