Description:
The Biological Sciences Facility is looking for a qualified Proponent to supply seventeen (17) Class II, Type A2 Biosafety cabinets (BSC) for procedural animal work and containment practices. These units must provide safe working conditions for BSF staff and researchers.
The University requires one (1) or more Proponents provide the Deliverables described in the Categories below and may submit Proposals for one or more Categories.
The requirements for the four (4) Categories listed below are either a “should have” or a “must have”. Wherever it is unclear if a requirement is either one of these, it can be assumed that it is a “should have”. Proposals for systems with equivalent or similar functionalities may be submitted.
This is a multi-award RFP, where the University will evaluate and award the Categories to one (1) or more Proponents with a possibility of up to four (4) awards to four (4) different Proponents.
The Categories are as follows:
1. Class 2, Type A2 Biosafety cabinets (17 total)
2. Bedding Dispensing System (1 total)
3. Bottle Filling Station (1 total)
4. Individually Ventilated Cages (IVC) rodent racks (11 total) & associated cage components (2 sets per rack)
All products must be new and of first quality represented by factory authorized vendors. The products presented in the Proposals must be accompanied by any/all warranty information whether it is expressed or implied for specific products. Items which are used, demonstrators, obsolete, seconds or which have been discontinued are unacceptable. An option to establish post-warranty preventative and corrective maintenance services after the standard warranty period should also be included (where applicable). It’s essential that the Proponent that supplies the equipment can also provide a prompt response to trouble shooting and on-site support when needed.

Time-Frame for Delivery/Duration of Agreement:
The term of the agreement is to be for a period of one (1) year, with an option in favour of the University to extend the agreement on the same terms and conditions for an additional four (4) terms of up to one (1) year each. It is anticipated that the agreement will be executed on or around March 2018.

Negotiation:
At the end of the evaluation process, the University of Toronto may identify one or more suppliers with whom it wishes to enter into negotiations, by written notification.
