DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT

The University is conducting an RFP for Lease of Laundry Equipment and Services for University Family Housing
The University wishes to enter into a lease agreement for brand new laundry equipment for its two, student family housing residence buildings located at 30 & 35 Charles Street West in Toronto, Ontario, to replace the current fleet of laundry equipment. The lease should provide warranty, and all on-going services, such as maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment replacement, must be included in the lease agreement, to provide ongoing services necessary to keep the equipment in good working order throughout the term of the agreement.

University Family Housing facilities are comprised of two high-rise residential buildings, located near Yonge and Bloor Streets in Toronto. The University houses approximately combined 2,000 people in 711 apartments.

The current fleet of laundry equipment is owned by the University, and is card operated using a “cash to card” value system in each of the two laundry facilities. The objective is to move away from this current system to a cashless system, using available industry technology that will allow users to pay for and operate the equipment using debit & credit cards. Moreover, smart phone and/or PC software applications to be used to again pay for, and operate the equipment, but in addition, allow users to be notified when wash or dry cycles are complete, extend wash or dry times, and report equipment issues remotely.

The procurement is anticipated to involve negotiation. An electronic auction is not anticipated

Submissions must be submitted electronically at https://utoronto.bonfirehub.ca/ on or before Friday, October 27, 2023 (2:00 PM local time). The submissions will not be opened publicly.

CONTRACT DETAILS
The proposed term of the lease agreement is five (5) years plus 2 years extension option.
