DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
The University is conducting an RFP for GPU Servers.
This RFP is being issued on by the Department of Computer Science on behalf of the Governing Council of the University of Toronto for the procurement of high-performance GPU equipped servers and supporting network adapters and cables. The servers should be equipped with low latency and high-speed network adapters (100Gbps or more) to be linked and united for a single, very large computing unit allowing for research with very large machine learning models on complex high-dimensional discrete data, such as proteins. The maximum size of the proposed servers should fit in two standard size data center racks such as the “APC NetShelter 4 Post Open Frame 19” Rack 44U Square Holes model AR203A” . It can be assumed the equipment will be cooled with chilled air. The University is aiming to maximize the GPU compute throughput subject to the constraints given below, within an approximate budget of $550,000 CAD. All things being equal a Proposal including fewer servers is preferred. All electrical/electronic components or equipment should have Ontario provincial approvals such as the Electrical Safety Authority, CSA or ULC requirements and conform to the industry standards and all other applicable legislative requirements. If this requirement cannot be met at the time of submission of proposal, the Proponent will clearly indicate its noncompliance and shall recommend strategies to ensure that they are able to meet the requirement at the time of installation, and provide confirmation Proponent will be responsible for all costs.
