This negotiated Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation by Facilities and Services on behalf of The Governing Council of the University of Toronto to prospective Proponents to submit Proposals for the provision of External Pest Control and Wildlife Services, as further described in the RFP.
The University of Toronto, St. George Campus, is an urban campus situated in the heart of Canada’s largest city. The site encompasses over 71 hectares (180 acres) bounded mostly by Bay Street to the east, Bloor Street to the north, Spadina Avenue to the west and College Street to the south. There are also two (2) additional locations in North York and Rosedale in Toronto.
The size and nature of open environment of the sites make it susceptible for external pests and wildlife to seek habitation. This has created or continuing to create more issues regarding health and safety and complaints from student and staff, among others.
It is also important to adhere to federal, provincial or city bylaws and regulations regarding the proper treatment and removal (e.g. humane treatment) of these pests or animals.
The proposed term of the agreement is to be for a period of five (5) years, with an option in favour of the University to extend the agreement on the same terms and conditions for an additional term of up to three (3) years at 1-year intervals.
