DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
This Request for Tender issued by the Facilities Management and Planning, at the University of Toronto Mississauga on behalf of The Governing Council of the University of Toronto to prospective bidders to submit Tenders for the provision of General Construction Services for the W.G. Davis Transitional Glazing Installation.
 
The University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) is seeking for General Construction Services of the installation of transitional glazing at the Davis Building Meeting Place and various other areas. The oldest building on campus, William G. Davis Building, is due for an aesthetic and operational upgrade of the window system. The University has chosen electrochromic glazing as it will eliminate the requirement of using blinds and/or shades for open shared spaces and offices. The University will be using a product that is intelligent, innovative and predictive and can rely on various technology to alter the level of tint of the glazing panels, View Dynamic Glass. The goal is to be able to reduce solar radiation and glare but also allowing our users to enjoy the comfort of natural lighting and indoor environment.
 
The procurement is not anticipated to involve negotiation.  An electronic auction is not anticipated.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
The procurement is subject to the following conditions for participation:
Pass / Fail Site Visit – January 31, 2019 @ 2:00 PM Eastern Time. 
 
Meeting Location: Recreation and Wellness Centre (RAWC) - Main Entrance Lobby, U of T Mississauga Campus, 3359 Mississauga Road, Mississauga, Ontario L5L 1C6. 
 
Note: On Campus location is 1825 Outer Circle.

The site visit is intended for bidders to carefully examine the site and note the conditions affecting the work prior to the Tender submission. Bidders are encouraged to invite sub-contractors. Alternative date will not be provided for the Site Visit.

CONTRACT DETAILS
Milestone Schedule:
The contractor shall commence work upon receipt of written notification of award and substantially complete by May 31, 2019. The contractor shall coordinate all work with the University.
