UTM200131 - ACAN-Autonomous Robot Boat(Maritime Robotics)

The University of Toronto Mississauga (the “University”) has a requirement to purchase an Autonomous Robot Boat for environmental monitoring of lakes. The purpose of this Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN) is to signal the University’s intention to award a contract to the following pre-selected supplier:

Background
The Robot Vision and Learning lab will be purchasing an autonomous robot boat (Maritime Robotics Otter) capable of water quality monitoring in the Great Lakes.
The autonomous boat must have the following capabilities
1) Battery life of at least 20hrs when the boat is traveling at 2 knots, with an 80W payload.
2) Ability to use existing motorized and programmable winch that can lower sensors at desired depths along the water column, at least 30m
3) Portable and deployable by one person in an SUV or truck
4) Ability to power other sensors and computers through the existing battery system
5) Accompanied by autonomous mission planning software
6) Catamaran design
7) Accompanied by a base station with radio telemetry

Process of Submitting a Statement of Capabilities
Interested suppliers may submit a Statement of Capabilities clearly demonstrating how they meet the requirement(s) of the ACAN, by sending their response via e-mail to the University contact before the closing date/time. Statement of Capabilities received by the closing date/time will be evaluated and considered solely for the purpose of determining if a competitive procurement process is warranted. The University will notify the suppliers who have submitted a Statement of Capabilities in response to this ACAN of its final decision.
