- TVO has an Avaya CS1000 Release 7.5 PBX, CallPilot Release 5.41, uCX Version 3.0 (for call distribution and recording).
- Fifteen Call Centre agents
- Approximately427 IP phone sets. Mostly Avaya model 1120E and some 1140e, all using PoE
- All sets must have 1GB network connectivity
- All sets are located at 2180 Yonge Street in Toronto.
- TVO is looking to discontinue its support of the equipment due to its expense and non-strategic nature.
Current Connectivity State & Requirements
TVO recognizes that a hosted solution will require robust networking, either private or public. An important outcome of the solution must be to satisfy the cost savings objective and leverage TVO’s current network technology. As such, network costs will be taken into account to determine the vendor of choice.
1. TVO is part of the ORION Network. ORION is TVO’s private network carrier and aggregates data traffic at its Point of Presence (POP) at 151 Front Street. It is required of the proponent to connect with ORION at 151 Front Street, which will be the termination point for connectivity to support the proposed Hosted PBX solution.
NOTE: Additional Cross-connect fees will apply to enable the connection from the Proponent’s Carrier to ORION. Contact sales@orion.on.ca for these fees.
2. Private Point to Point 100Mbps connection with 20Mbps Committed Bandwidth to connect the Proponent’s Data Centre location where the Hosted PBX solution resides to ORION’s Point of Presence via (Meet Me Room) at 151 Front Street West, Toronto.
3. Utilizing Existing Primary Allstream (1Gbps) and Secondary TeraGo (100Mbps) connections.
NOTE: These connections are currently under contract, however, TVO would like to solicit pricing proposals to replace or take over providing these services once current contracts expire with Allstream and TeraGo, which will be within 1 year.
The vendor will provide a fully managed Hosted PBX solution
The vendor will supply, manage, and replace any\all phone sets
The vendor will guarantee end-to-end voice service and connectivity to the PSTN
Minimal equipment will reside on the TVO premises
The vendor will be the primary source for the following:
- Hosted business telephone system hardware, software, voice mail and call routing equipment.
- Installation and configuration services for this equipment
- Training of users and administrators
