Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) requires a Company to remove and recycle or dispose of mixed wood from various TTC locations. TTC personnel will load scrap wood into collection bins that are provided by the Company and contact the Company to have the load picked up and removed for recycling or disposal.
Collected materials can consist of skids, plywood, MDF particle boards, wooden cable spools and small amount of pressure treated wood and painted boards. Recyclable wood material may be contaminated with small amounts of cardboard, strapping, shrink wrap and general waste.
The company is required to perform the following Work:
i) Supply, deliver, pick up and drop off roll off containers to the TTC locations as specified in Table 1, or other locations as may be required.
ii) The Company shall supply vehicle(s) suitable for this Work, pick up the bins from the TTC’s property and transport the wood waste to a recycling or disposal facility.
iii) The Company shall pick-up and remove full bins and replace them with empty bins within 24 hours of notification by the TTC.
iv) The Company shall make special provisions for safe exchange and transportation of bins in the event of overloading or protrusion of bulky wood skids, under the conditions of section 3.2 The Company shall recycle or dispose of the waste wood.
