T57BK22303 - METALLURGICAL TESTING SERVICES FOR STREETCAR WAY TRACKWORK BID NO. T57BK22303

The Supplier shall provide all necessary labour, equipment and materials to satisfactorily conduct a thorough and detailed engineering based root cause failure analyses including metallurgical and/or mechanical quality assurance tests on (but not necessarily limited to) the following components that experience failure (or suspected failure) or performance related concerns:

1. Saw cut, steel roll forged rails of varying lengths (with a typical maximum length of ten (10) feet or less with the majority of lengths being on the order of one (1) to two (2) feet);
2. Cast in-field rail thermite welds and electric flash butt welds (FBW);
3. Mechanical fasteners and typical joint hardware including standard joint bars and compromise joint bars used in mechanical rail joints; and
4. Manganese based and roll STW components used in the design of surface rail crossings at intersections or end-of-line loops.
