Sealed proposals addressed and clearly marked ‘Request for Proposal RFP – ‘Demolition of 67-71 Talbot St. East’ and/or ‘Demolition of 23 Myrtle St.’ will be received by the Town of Aylmer at the address noted below, until 11:00 am Thursday, April 19, 2018.
Building A: The building is a Two (2) story structure that includes a basement. Generally, the structure is comprised of timber and masonry brick. The interior finishes include a small retail space with drywall and ceiling tile. The rear of the building is reduced height and has a partially collapsed roof and exterior wall. The front section of the building is to be removed in such a way as to make the building and the adjacent buildings safe in accordance with the Ontario Building code. A Designated Substances Survey was prepared in December 2017 and is included in this information package. The contractor will supply the clean materials needed to fill the foundation cavity where the building is removed as well as compaction to the satisfaction of the Municipality. Building B: The building is a One (1) story industrial structure that includes a mezzanine. Generally, the structure is comprised of concrete, steel and wood. Some of the interior finishes include a small office space with drywall and ceiling tile. The balance of the space comprises of a shop/mechanical area built of concrete and steel materials. Building footings to be removed unless there is an anticipated impact on the nearby watermain as identified on the included site diagram. If so, the footings may remain in place below grade only on the southern portion of the building if necessary to ensure the safety of the watermain. An Asbestos Survey was completed on the building in September 2008 and is available for viewing at Aylmer Town Hall office. A Designated Substances Survey was prepared in December 2017 and is included in this information package.
